Effective date: October 16, 2026
These terms govern your use of Federal Exposure at https://federalexposure.com (the "site"), published by C. Zakarian ("we", "us").
Acceptance of these terms
By using the site, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information only, not advice
The site publishes data and analysis for information only. Nothing on it is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice. Nothing on it is a recommendation or an offer to buy, sell or hold any security. We do not know your circumstances, and we do not act as your investment adviser, broker or fiduciary.
Read our disclaimer, which forms part of these terms. Make your own decisions, and consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here.
Accuracy and no warranty
We work to make every figure accurate and to link it to its source. But company filings and federal spending records can be revised, our matching of contracts to companies can miss or misassign records, and we can make mistakes.
The site and all its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be available without interruption or free of errors.
Always check the linked source before relying on a figure. If you find an error, please report it to contact@federalexposure.com.
Intellectual property
Federal data. Works produced by the U.S. government, including federal spending data from USAspending.gov, are generally in the public domain in the United States. Our use of that data does not change its status.
Our work. The selection, arrangement and compilation of data on the site, our text, our charts, our page designs and the Federal Exposure name are © Federal Exposure. All rights not granted in these terms are reserved.
CSV downloads. The CSV files on our data page are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt them for any purpose, including commercial use, if you give credit. Use this attribution: "Federal Exposure, federalexposure.com". Where you can, link to the page you used and note the data date.
Quoting our articles and charts. You may quote short passages of our text, or show a single chart, for commentary, news reporting or research, with credit to Federal Exposure and a link to the original page. To republish whole articles or many charts, ask us first at contact@federalexposure.com.
Quotations from SEC filings
Our pages quote short passages from companies' filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), such as a sentence from a 10-K that states a company's U.S. government share. We quote these for commentary, analysis and identification of the source, and we link to the full filing. The original text belongs to its authors. Quoting a filing does not mean the company endorses or has reviewed our work.
Acceptable use
You may read, link to and share the site freely. You may also download our CSV files with scripts or other automated tools.
You may not:
- crawl or scrape pages at a rate or volume that burdens the site or degrades it for other readers;
- try to get around security measures, probe the site for vulnerabilities, or interfere with its operation;
- present our content in a way that suggests we endorse you, your product or any investment;
- remove or alter attribution or the labels that mark figures as calculated or "not disclosed";
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Search engines and archives that follow our robots.txt file are welcome.
Third-party links and advertising
The site links to other websites, including sec.gov and usaspending.gov, and shows ads served by Google and its partners. We do not control those websites or ads and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. A link or an ad is not an endorsement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we and C. Zakarian will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or investment value, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content. This applies even if we were told such damages were possible.
If we are found liable to you despite these terms, our total liability will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless C. Zakarian from any claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in that state, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the privacy policy and disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
