L3Harris (LHX) gets 75% of its revenue from the U.S. government
What L3Harris reports in its FY2025 10-K, and what federal contract records show.
Summary
L3Harris reported that 75% of its FY2025 revenue, about $16.4B of $21.9B by our calculation, came from the U.S. government. That figure is broad: it counts work done as a subcontractor to other primes and foreign military sales funded through the U.S. government, as the 10-K says: "… customers, whether directly or through prime contractors, including foreign military sales funded through the U.S. Government, was 75% and no other customer accounted for more than 5% of our revenue."
Because so much of that revenue reaches L3Harris through other contractors, the prime contract record is smaller: the $7.77B we matched in federal fiscal year 2025 is 0.47 times its reported U.S. government revenue. L3Harris also has more civilian work than most defense companies: 19.4% of matched obligations came from agencies other than the Department of Defense, with the Federal Aviation Administration alone at 12.2%, and its contracts include the ground system for NOAA's weather satellites (DOCDG133E09CN0094).
USAspending still lists Peraton and CAE USA under L3Harris. The company no longer owns them: Harris sold the business that became Peraton in 2017 and sold its military training business to CAE in 2022. We leave both out. Aerojet Rocketdyne counts from its July 2023 acquisition.
