Aerospace companies sell to airlines and aircraft makers as well as to the Pentagon, so federal money is a large customer for them but rarely the main one. We cover five, and the two that disclose a U.S. government share report 38% (Moog) and 27% (Textron).
Hexcel, TransDigm and Howmet Aerospace give no company-wide U.S. government figure, so we show them as not disclosed. Some report a defense market share instead, which mixes U.S. and foreign militaries and sales to other contractors; we don't treat that as a federal share.
Their direct federal contract record is modest relative to their size: the recipients we matched to these companies received $3.89B in prime contract obligations in the latest federal fiscal year. Much of what they sell for military programs goes first to prime contractors, so it shows up in the primes' contract records rather than their own.
