The technology companies we cover show the gap between selling a lot to Washington and depending on it. Palantir reports 41.4%; Accenture reports 8%. The rest, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Alphabet and Dell Technologies, don't disclose a U.S. government share at all. Accounting rules require a company to disclose any single customer that provides 10% or more of its revenue, and none of them names the U.S. government as one.

The contract record fills in part of the picture. Accenture had the most prime contract obligations among them, $3.74B in federal fiscal year 2024, followed by Dell Technologies at $3.30B. Cloud and software are often sold through resellers and integrators, so a company's prime awards understate how much of its product the government buys.
