We compared prime contract obligations to the recipients we match to each company in FFY2026 through July 3, 2026 with the same period of FFY2025. BWX Technologies had the largest increase, from $54.8M to $183M. Leonardo DRS had the largest decline, from $647M to $276M.

Year-to-year swings in obligations are common. A single multi-year award or a large modification can move a company's total by billions. Department of Defense contract data arrives about 90 days late, so we compare periods that end at least that long ago, when both years are complete.

How we measure

Obligations are summed over prime contract award types A–D on USAspending.gov for the recipients listed on each company profile. Companies with less than $50M in the earlier period are left out because small bases produce misleading percentages. See why obligations and revenue differ.
